We went to a very rundown apartment complex to visit and invite children to come to church with us on Sunday. We knocked on one door of someone who had let their girl come with us the previous week.
As the dad opened the door, it was obvious that he had been drinking a lot and was unsure why we where there. Empty bottles covered the floor and it did not look like a place for children to live.
All of the sudden, a sweet little girl with a big beautiful smile appeared next to her dad. She wanted to come to church with us again.
Many children live in these conditions but God has given us an open door to help children like this. Parents are willing to let us bring their children to church. Over 20 children have come with us over the last several weeks.
When we get to church, we feed the children a nutritious meal before we teach them about the love and grace of God that can be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
